INTRO GATE:- Part 2

Candidates who are preparing for GATE Exam or students in 2nd or 3rd year of  B.E.,B. Tech. who have just decided to give GATE should know these important points about GATE Exam.

The Exam consists of 65 questions carrying 100 marks and all these questions are of objective type. Each question has only one correct answer. This year in 2012 GATE Exam, answers were to be marked by darkening a bubbles with black ball point pen.
Questions no. 1 to 25 carry 1 marks each and for each wrong response 1/3 marks will be deducted. Question no. 26 to 55 carry 2 marks each, Q. no. 56 to 65 belongs to general aptitude section and carry a total of 15 marks.

Question No. 26 to 55 include two pairs of common data questions and linked answer questions. The answer to the second question of linked answer questions depends upon the response of the first question. If the first question is wrongly answered or is not attempted, then the answer to the second question in the pair will not be evaluated.

Unattempted questions will result in no negative marks. For all 2 marks questions, 2/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. However, in case of linked answer question pairs, there will be negative marking for only first question to the pair of linked answer questions and not for the second question.

Scientific Calculators are allowed and keep in mind it is as asset, if you forget to bring your calculator then your chances of cracking GATE go down by 30-50% especially for EC, EE, ME candidates.

As Quoted by my mentor Prof Anurag Shrivastava:-
" Agar tum Exam center pe puch gaye aur calculator le jaana bhul gaye to wapas aa jaana Exam dene se koi fayada nahi hai"
